Port Coquitlam Service Area

PoCo Is Right in Our Backyard

Port Coquitlam borders our Coquitlam home base, so we’re in the area regularly and can often book measuring visits the same week, or even the next day. Oxford Heights and Mary Hill in the north end are neighbourhoods we know well. Citadel Heights and Riverwood to the south are also a consistent part of our weekly schedule. If you’re in PoCo and you’ve been putting off getting screens or blinds installed, this is probably the easiest place in our service area to schedule it quickly.

Bloom Bug installs custom window bug screensretractable door screens, and custom window blinds across Port Coquitlam. Free measuring visit. Written quote before ordering. Full installation by our own team.

Port Coquitlam has a good mix of 1970s and 1980s ranchers and split-levels in the Mary Hill and Oxford Heights areas, along with newer townhouse developments near Shaughnessy Street and Riverwood. The older homes often have horizontal slider windows in aluminum frames where the existing screens have simply worn out. We replace or rescreen these regularly.

Bug pressure in PoCo is real, especially near the Pitt River and the Traboulay trail system. Homes in Riverwood and Lincoln Park that back onto green space see more mosquito activity in summer. Standard fibreglass handles most of the city well. For homes right near the Pitt, no-see-um mesh is worth considering.

Port Coquitlam Service Area

PoCo Is Right in Our Backyard

We install custom window bug screens across Port Coquitlam from Oxford Heights and Mary Hill to Citadel Heights and Riverwood. PoCo is next door to our Coquitlam base, which means we can often book measuring visits within a day or two. Mary Hill and Oxford Heights homes from the 1970s and 1980s often have horizontal slider windows in frames that are still structurally good but need new mesh. We rescreen these on-site rather than replacing the full frame, which saves money. For Riverwood homes near the Pitt River, we sometimes recommend no-see-um mesh for ground-floor windows where river mosquito activity is higher.

Retractable screen doors are used in Port Coquitlam for front entry doors and French doors in Citadel Heights and newer Riverwood builds. They retract fully when the screen isn’t needed, keeping the door appearance clean. For the back patio sliding doors that are standard in PoCo townhouses and family homes, we install fitted patio screen panels that run on the existing door track. The Traboulay trail and green space along the Pitt means mosquitoes are real from June through August, so a working patio screen is a practical summer need.

Custom window blinds in Port Coquitlam are popular in both newer Citadel and Riverwood builds and older Oxford Heights and Mary Hill homes getting their first proper window coverings. Zebra blinds are our most requested product in PoCo, starting at $12 per panel. Blackout roller shades for bedrooms and light-filtering options for living rooms are the next most common choice. Cellular shades are popular in the older parts of the city where window insulation at the frame makes a difference in winter. Motorized blinds are an easy conversation in newer PoCo builds that already have smart home infrastructure.

PoCo: Close to Home, Fast to Book

Mary Hill is one of our most consistent service areas in Port Coquitlam. The neighbourhood has a significant number of 1970s and 1980s homes with horizontal slider windows in frames that are still structurally sound but have mesh that is 15 to 25 years old and failing. We do a lot of rescreening work in Mary Hill, replacing just the mesh inside the existing frame.

Oxford Heights is a mix of older established homes and some newer infill builds. The newer builds have modern frame profiles. The older homes are similar to Mary Hill. We know this neighbourhood well and typically require minimal back-and-forth at the measuring visit because we’ve seen the same frame types many times.

Riverwood and Lincoln Park in the south part of PoCo are newer subdivisions from the 1990s through 2000s. Bug screens here are popular because these properties back onto the Traboulay trail and green space along the Pitt. A working back patio door screen and window screens on the main floor make a real difference in comfort from June through September.
